IMPORTANT - Syngenta website update - Reset your GDD Thresholds

The new fresh look and important upgrades to the Syngenta website does mean that all existing personalised GDD thresholds will have to be reset. 

** Please note that, after an initial glitch, all threshold calculations are now working at the correct 0⁰C, 6⁰C or 10⁰C base temperature you would have specified when the thresholds were set. This will have automatically updated your personal threshold progress with the correct information from the date it was set up.  ** 

Follow the link below to set thresholds and notifications in the same way as previously - including your required bespoke GDD interval and base temperature.

You can set the 'Start' to any historical date to retrieve previous GDD information.   

The system will automatically backdate the cumulative daily GDD from zero if you insert the application date of your most recent Primo Maxx II treatment as the start date.

Base temperatures used in calculating GDD vary depending on the type of plant or pest that is being monitored. This number represents the temperature at which you will typically begin to see plant or pest growth. The base temperature most often used in USA calculations is 10°C, because it is the temperature when active growth begins for most organisms. However, in the UK’s cooler environments many turf managers use 6°C, occasionally 0°C is used as the base temperature. For more information on which base temperature best suits your turf management plan, please contact your local Syngenta contact.

ERA5T (30 km)

ERA5T is the fifth generation ECMWF reanalysis for the global climate and weather historical data. The spatial resolution of the dataset is around 30km and it is available across global with lag time of 10 days. We gap fill the 10 days duration with numerical weather forecast model called NEMSGLOBAL.
ECMWF periodically uses its models and data assimilation systems to 'reanalyze' archived observations, creating global data sets describing the recent history of the atmosphere, land surface, and oceans.
Reanalysis combines model data with observations from across the world into a globally complete and consistent dataset using the laws of physics.
