GreenCast in UK and Ireland - Amenity Forum Conference tackles pesticide changes

Product Update

The 2009 Amenity Forum Conference will tackle the industry-wide conundrum of 'Coping with Change' from impending legislation on pesticide use and how to take best advantage of developments in application techniques. The Conference will be held at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on 4th November 2009.

Amenity Forum Chairman, John Moverley, urges everyone to attend. "Changing pesticide legislation is already having a significant effect on the amenity sector. The conference is the industry's opportunity to find out more about the current and potential situations, and to have your say.

"It will be the main event in expressing the views of the amenity sector to all concerned in changing pesticide legislation." The Conference will feature a wide range of speakers, but importantly, it will also have key times when delegates can express their views on issues, direct to the people are involved in the new legalisation and consultation process.

Topics include the potential implications of the Sustainable Use Directive and the Water Framework Directive on the amenity sector, presented by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate and the Environment Agency. Also providing key practical solutions on the day, Dr Ruth Mann of STRI will guide greenkeepers, groundsmen and turf managers through the use of Integrated Turf Management, whilst Dr Simon Watson of Syngenta will provide essential tips and advice on sprayers and nozzle selection to minimise risk and optimise results with applications.

"It would be easy to just ignore matters and then complain afterwards when it affects you," adds Mr Moverley. "Our programme for the day features a diverse range of topics from a number of superb speakers. You do not need to be a member of the Amenity Forum to attend. Please come along and make your voice heard. We look forward to welcoming you."

The 2009 Amenity Forum Conference is sponsored by Syngenta and Scotts.
