BIGGA hosted a webinar on Acelepryn this week (27 May) covering the renewed emergency authoriastion for chafer grubs this summer.

The well-attended event gave BIGGA members the chance to find out more and quiz Syngenta Turf Technical Manager, Glenn Kirby, about the product; the emergency authorisation; why the current use period is targeted specifcally at chafer grubs, and how to get the best from applications?

The full webinar is now available free for all to watch here:

Glenn outlined the challenge of targeting soil pests at the optimum time, to ensure the product is in the target soil zone at the point of egg hatch and initial larvae activity.

Application technique and following the Acelepryn Seven Point Plan gives the best chancde of success, he urged.

Reporting observations of adult chafers now, using the Pest Tracker website, is building a valuable picture of pest populations and distribution, to further aid timing and targeting in the future, he added.
