Fungicide

Turf Reward Points: 5
Heritage Maxx is no longer available for purchase. Greenkeepers and turf managers have until 24 March 2024 to use up any stocks, in accordance with the existing label advice.
The move follows an announcement by the GB regulatory authorities to follow EU guidelines to remove certain co-formulants in products on a precautionary principle. The move will also affect sales across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Syngenta took the decision not to undertake a costly reformulation of Heritage Maxx, since the important fungicide active, azoxystrobin, would still remain fully available in the high performance WDG formulation, Heritage.
Furthermore, Syngenta has invested additional R&D and manufacturing capacity in the advanced fungicide technology of Ascernity, to provide an entirely new active ingredient for turf that is ideally suited for summer disease control. It would also create an important additional resistance management strategy, for use in programmes with Heritage.
Ascernity has already received approval for full use in the Republic of Ireland and on enclosed sports turf surfaces in the UK; the product is currently in the UK regulatory process for use on golf and fine turf.
No other Syngenta turf products, including Heritage, Ascernity, Instrata Elite, Medallion TL or Primo Maxx II, are affected by the acceptable co-formulant legislation.
Label and download information will remain available on the website during the use up period and for historic use records compliance.
